Rules Highlights
There is a 95 db at 9 feet noise abatement.

 

 

Flyers must be members or guest of a member.

 

 

Guest may fly twice, but must have current AMA card.

 

 

Only 4 aircraft in the air at one time permitted.

 

 

Frequency pins are required.

 

 

You are financially responsible for damages you cause.

 

 

Courtesy, good sportsmanship & safety are stressed.

 

 

Alcohol is permitted as a fuel only.  If you drink it, DON'T FLY.

 

 

There is a 5 MPH speed limit on field access road.

 

 

Clean-up!  Haul your own trash & dorks from field.

 

 

 

Rules Of The American Airlines Gas Model Club Flying Field

  • Objective:  To provide safe and enjoyable flying while keeping the field.
  • Field Location:  3050 Avon Lake Road (RT. 83) Litchfield, Ohio.  Sign at drive way states, "Hickory Hills Stables".

EXIT THE PROPERTY AND TURN RIGHT ON ROUTE 83 (AVON LAKE WOOSTER ROAD) SOUTH. DRIVE TO ROUTE 18 (MEDINA NORWALK RD) AND TURN LEFT (EAST).  DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 11 MILES ON ROUTE 18 THROUGH MEDINA TO THE HOSPITAL.  911 MAY BE AN OTHER OPTION.   FIRST AID KITS ARE IN TRAILER.

 

  1. Due to noise abatement for the owner and neighbors, there will be no running of glow / gas engines before 10:30 a.m. Monday - Friday or Noon on Saturday and Sunday or after 9:00 p.m. on any day.  Flying past the east tree line is to be avoided.  There will be no flying past the east tree line, over the pit area of anywhere south of the pits.
  2. Silent aircraft (sailplanes and electric) may be flown at any time of the day.
  3. All aircraft must meet the 95 db level or lower at 9 feet. 
  4. Pilots must be an AAGMC member or guest with a current AMA card.
  5. Guests must have a current AMA card and may fly twice ( two days) at the field under the supervision of a "WING CERTIFIED" club member.
  6. There is a limit of four aircraft in the air at one time.  Every one is required to do aircraft avoidance.  Don't be a bully.
  7. All transmitters will use frequency pins according to the AMA guidelines.  Pins with the frequency number will be placed on the designated post before a flight.  If you cause a crash by turning on your transmitter while someone else is in the air, you are financially responsible any damages.
  8. Courtesy, good sportsmanship and safety cannot be stressed too much.  If at all possible, crash your plane before it causes injury or property damage.
  9. All club and AMA safety rules shall be observed.  You are financially responsible for damages caused by negligence.
  10. Drinking of alcoholic beverages and flying are NOT permitted.  Anyone violating this rule may jeopardize their AAGMC club membership.
  11. Driveway speed limit from Rt.83 back to the flying field is 5 MPH.  Anyone violating this rule may jeopardize their AAGMC club membership.
  12. Keep the field and surrounding areas clean.  TAKE ALL YOUR RUBBISH HOME.
